Dr. Ronald C. Wyche
 

Dr. Ronald C. Wyche is a Family Medicine physician originally from Tallulah, Louisiana. He is coming to OutPatient Medical Centers, Inc. after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 from the New Orleans Health Corporation, where he worked for 13 years as the primary care physician at the Desire Florida Neighborhood Health Center, one of three clinics of the corporation.

Dr. Wyche started his career as a staff physician at the Robinson Medical Group in New Orleans in 1977. In 1978, he operated his own private practice under Family Physician’s Center, Inc. covering all aspects of Family Practice except OB-Gyne and Surgery for 14 years.

Dr. Wyche received his Board certification from the American Academy of Family Physicians from 1977 to 1983. He completed his three-year Family Practice Residency Program at the University of Illinois at Peoria in 1977, after graduating from Tulane Medical School in 1974. While at Southern University in Baton Rouge from 1967 to 1970, he was consistently on the Dean’s List. After attending a summer program at Tulane Medical School during his sophomore year, Dr. Wyche was accepted at the medical school after just his junior year at the university.

With continuing medical education high in his priorities, Dr. Wyche attended the LSU Family Practice Update, obtaining 30 to 40 hours per year every year since 1993, and for about 18 of the past 25 years. Recently, he also attended the Baylor School of Medicine Internal Medicine Update in 2006 and the Scott and White Hospital Family Medicine Update in 2007.

“I have always enjoyed providing care for the indigent and those without means to pay,” Dr. Wyche said. “Being able to come home (to Tallulah) and work in this type of setting is most gratifying,” he added.
